McGarry Cup Results.

The club would like to thank the McGarry Family for their very generous sponsorship of last week’s competition. A good crowd of members attended the presentation of prizes in the club house last Saturday night.
The highlight of the night was the open draw to see who would win the pairing draw. The results are as follows. Congrats to the overall winner Damian Duignan with an excellent score of 40 pts. Congrats to the ladies winner Ann McDermott Conroy with an excellent score of 39 pts. Also congrats to the pairing winners Lisa Casey 33pts and Seam Gilmartin 37pts total 70 pts . The club would like to thank Paul O’Brien and Liam Bruen and Leo Noone and Adam O’Brien for all their work on the draw.Thanks also to our spot prize sponsors on the night O.B.N and the Bunker Bar. Senior Results

The overall winner last Thursday was Damien Duignan with a score of 40 points. Category one winner was Albert Hogg with 36 points; Category two John Kelly with 33 points and Category three was won by Seán Gilmartin with 36 points for the second week running. The front nine was won by Tommie Kenoy with 21 points and the back nine was won by Kevin O’Rourke with 18 points. Golf as usual next Thursday.

McGarry Cup Details

This Thurs/Fri/Sat 19th 20th 21th of September 18 hole Stableford Competition. Prize for Best Lady & Best Man. But the Biggest Prize is for best combined pair. The ‘Pairing’ takes place in the clubhouse at 7.30 on Sat evening where half of the scorecards will be drawn ‘one by one’ from a pot and matched with the other half. It will be very suspenseful. Additional Prizes for players who show up on the Saturday evening. Even if you don’t have a brilliant score, you could still feature

Ladies Results.

Connacht SWGS (Senior Women’s Golf Society) was held in Carrick GC on Tuesday last. Congratulations to Delores Mulvey who was the overall winner.Congratulations to Noeleen Moffatt & Kathleen Martin who won the All Ireland ICA Pitch & Putt Competition in An Grianan. The Ladies would like to thank Soilse Pharmacy for their kind sponsorship of last weekend’s competition. The results are as follows. 1st Patrice Gallagher 42pts. 2nd Mary King 37pts. 3rd Gabrielle Madsen 36pts Gross winner was Ann Keenan 33pts.

Gents Results

The results of last week’s competition was as follows: Congrats to the overall winner John Kelly with a score of 44 pts Division 2 winner was Steve Doherty 42pts. Gross winner was Patrick Martin 37pts.

Gents Inter Club Connacht Shield Semi Final Results.

Our Connacht Shield team were playing in the Connacht Semi Final of the Connacht Shield Last Weekend and the result was not in favour of our lads with Swinford winning 3 1 . We wish Swinford the best of luck in the Connacht Final. The team was as follows: Team Captain Pat King away David McDermott & Paul Kelleher. Tom McGuinness & John Coffey. Home Paul Roche & Damian Quigley. Marc McDermott & Niall Loftus . The club would like to thank the team captain and team for their effort.

Seniors Results

The overall winner last Thursday was Michael Keville with a score of 38 points. Category one winner was Frank McGrath with 36 points; Category two Kevin O’Rourke with 35 points and Category three was won by Seán Gilmartin with 36 points. The front nine was won by Leo Kavanagh with 20 points and the back nine was won by Deasún Lyons with 19 points. The next away outing is to Westport/Castlebar next Monday & Tuesday the 23rd & 24th September. Golf as usual next Thursday.

Gents Final O.B.N Series.

On Last Saturday the final of the Gents O.B.N. Series took place with 40 players competing. The club would like to thank Paul O’Brien for his very generous sponsorship. Also thanks to Paul and his Family for providing players with lovely food and goodies at the start of the competition. Congrats to all the winners who were presented with their prizes on Saturday night in the club house. The results are as follows 1st prize of an IPad Air with an excellent score of 45pts was Hugh Gralton Joint 2nd of £300euro voucher for DeVino Restaurant was John Hardiman and Cathal Dowd 42pts. 4th £100euro voucher for De Vino Restaurant was Gordon Kavanagh with a score of 40 pts. The Gross Prize of a 4 ball to Killeen Castle was won by David McDermott with an excellent 69 gross score. Longest Drive of a Lenoa McGuire top was Callum McGirl Nearest to the pin of a £100 euro voucher was Damien Quigley. And a very special prize of a voucher for Pete Duignan Golf Longford was won by Oliver Curran
