Then on Thursday Seniors Then for the Gents section you can play Friday and Saturday with top Qualifiers playing on Sunday with a 9- hole weather dependent playoff on Sunday evening. Our club has a very special moment to celebrate this week. Carrick on Shannon member Patrick Martin is the 2026 U18 Irish Order of Merit Champion. Congratulations Patrick what an achievement and so well deserved. If the quality of golf you played in Carrick a few weeks back is anything to go by it’s only the start of things to come. Just a quick reminder that next weekend is the 3rd OBN Series Qualifier. Line up your visitors.This weekend is the 3rd Qualifier in the 2026 OBN Series. We have the Tipsy Tailor Bar (Main Street, Carrick on Shannon)back again as a sponsor. thanks a million to Kenny and Siobhan Murtagh for their very generous sponsorship. It’s a Singles Stableford Competition played off either the White or Yellow Tees. Re-entry is available. Visitors are very welcome and bonus points available. The new Club Shop is putting up a €100 prize for the lowest gross score.

The club would like to wish our President Anthony Noone the best of luck this Weekend. You can play on Friday or Saturday with the final nine holes for the Gents on Saturday Evening. Presentation of prizes will be in the clubhouse at 8.30pm with music afterwards.

Now that the series is off and running, the next Qualifier will be upon us in no time on the weekend of the 26th – 28th of June. It’s a singles competition and Thomas Taylor and his business Taylor Cleaning Services has once again come on board and is putting up a 1,000 euro prize fund. That said, if you’re going to be taking home some of that prize you will have to put your thinking cap on as we are limiting the amount of clubs in your golf Bag to 5 for this competition. (to be verified by your playing partners on the first tee) one of those 5 clubs needs to be your putter. More to follow
