Patrick Martin is the 2026 U18 Irish Order of Merit Champion.

Our club has a very special moment to celebrate this week. Carrick on Shannon member Patrick Martin is the 2026 U18 Irish Order of Merit Champion. Congratulations Patrick what an achievement and so well deserved. If the quality of golf you played in Carrick a few weeks back is anything to go by it’s only the start of things to come. It’s a great occasion for your parents Philip and Ann Marie and sister Kate also. Your club is delighted and so proud of you

O.B.N. Series.

We are 100% certain about this but if anyone else can remember a weekend when more people played Carrick on Shannon golf club over a weekend let us know. Between the Gents Captain’s prize to the Ladies, 3 golf societies, a Jack O Sullivan men’s interclub and another record breaking OBN Series qualifier the course was packed. The OBN Series is very grateful to the owner and management of the landmark Hotel for becoming one of our qualifiers sponsors this year. The town of Carrick on Shannon has some fantastic nationally recognised businesses but none more so than the Landmark. Back when it was constructed it was a transformational development for the town and to this day fly’s the flag for Carrick on Shannon both near and far. We worked with Ciaran Kelly on a number of community projects, and he always steps up and does more than his fair share. The course is once again in great shape which is no mean feat during the last month or so of drought conditions. The continued infrastructure investment in the club was so evident this week. The drainage is now complete. and the new tee box on 17 is another reminder of the ambition our course and management have. O.B.N. Results will be published next week.
