Mary O’Rourke Presidents Prize Results.

Congrats to our very popular President Mary O’Rourke on the very well organised week last. The week began with the Ladies scramble on Wednesday. The results are as follows 1st Jenny Bruen , Patricia Molloy, and Kathleen O’Dowd 27net. 2nd Ann Keenan, Molly Daly, Katrina Fitzpatrick 27net. 3rd Carmel Stritch, Terri Gray, Claire Grant, 28net. On Thursday it was the President’s Prize to the seniors. Congrats to the winner Sean Martin with a score of 37 pts. The Ladies and Gents section was played over Friday and Saturday and the results are as follows. In the Ladies section Congrats to the overall winner Teresa Duignan with an excellent score of 65 net. 2nd Mary Molly 64net. Gross Geraldine Farry 83gross. 3rd Mary King 67net. Back 9 was won by Carmel Stritch, front 9 was won by Jenny Bruen. Longest drive Geraldine Farry. Nearest to the pin was won by Anne Cox. Past Ladies President Prize was won by Phil McWeeney. Winner of the birdie prize was Siobhan Talbot. In the gents section congrats to the overall winner Declan Loftus with a score of 66net.2nd Ciaran Cafferty 68net Gross Patrick Martin 71gross 3rd John Hardiman 68net. Front 9 David McDermott. Back 9 Sean Mulvey. Nearest to the pin Robert Donaldson. Past Gents President Damien Duignan 68 net. Winner of the visitors Ladies was Virginia Connelly and the visitors Men was Greg O’Rourke. The club would like to thank all the volunteers and course staff who had the course in excellent condition, and also the Bar and Kitchen staff who provided excellent food and drinks on the night.

Senior Results.

Last Thursday was the President’s prize to the Seniors. The overall winner was Seán Martin with a score of 37 points. Congrats to Seán on winning the Presidents prize and thanks to the President Mary O’Rourke who presented the prize in the clubhouse on Saturday evening during a most enjoyable event. Other winners last Thursday were Chris Lowe who won Category one with a score of 32 points, Category two was won by Paddy Dillon with 36 points and Category three was won by Francie Foley with 35 points. The front nine was won by Albert Hogg with 18 points and the back nine was won by Seán Gilmartin with 18 points. Golf as usual next Thursday.

Congrats To Patrick Martin and Charlie Boyle in Connacht U18 Boys Amateur Championship.

Great to see 2 of our members in the top 3 places of the Connacht Boys Amateur Championship (Qualifier for U18 Open) Patrick Martin led the way with a superb 1 under Gross 71. Charlie Boyle finished just 2 shots further back on 1 over after a 73. The Top 6 players qualified. Congratulations Patrick and Charlie on the superb golf and their qualification for Connacht Boys U18 Open on the 17th July. Good Luck Lads.

Mary O’Rourke Presidents Prize Next Weekend.

Please ensure that all members support our very popular President Mary O’Rourke next weekend. On Thursday is Seniors Day. The President prize will be played then on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th With meal and presentation of prizes on Saturday night at 7.30pm. We wish Mary good luck for the weekend.

Joan O’Shea Mixed Scramble Results.

The club would like to thank Gus O’Shea for the very generous sponsorship of last weekend’s Mixed Scramble. Congrats to all the winners. The results are as follows. 1st Colin Slevin Carmel Garvey and Kathleen O’Dowd with an excellent score of 54 pts. 2nd Anthony Noone Mary Egan and Gerard Fitzgerald. 53pts. 3rd Liam Bruen Mary Moreton and Mary Molloy. 51pts.

Senior Results.

A very successful outing took place to Longford on the 17th June with six teams of three taking part. The members of the winning team were Tommy Mulvey, Joe Keville and Charlie Farrell with 43 points (B6), in second place Robbie Donaldson, Damien Duignan and Seamus Sheerin with 43 points (B9), third place was won by Leo Mulvey, Seamus Mulhern and Dermot Conlon with 43 points. The overall winner last Thursday was Paddy Duffy with 39 points. Category one was won by Frank McGrath with 37 points, Category two was won by Michael Duignan with 33 points and Category three was won by Ken Moran with 37 points. The front nine was won by Dermot McNamara with 22 points and the back nine was won by Damien Duignan with 20 points. Golf as usual next Thursday.

O.B.N Series.
