Our Connacht Shield team were playing in the Connacht Semi Final of the Connacht Shield Last Weekend and the result was not in favour of our lads with Swinford winning 3 1 . The overall winner last Thursday was Michael Keville with a score of 38 points. Category one winner was Frank McGrath with 36 points; Category two Kevin O’Rourke with 35 points and Category three was won by Seán Gilmartin with 36 points. The front nine was won by Leo Kavanagh with 20 points and the back nine was won by Deasún Lyons with 19 points. The next away outing is to Westport/Castlebar next Monday & Tuesday the 23rd & 24th September. Golf as usual next Thursday.

On Last Saturday the final of the Gents O.B.N. Series took place with 40 players competing. The club would like to thank Paul O’Brien for his very generous sponsorship. Also thanks to Paul and his Family for providing players with lovely food and goodies at the start of the competition. Congrats to all the winners who were presented with their prizes on Saturday night in the club house. The results are as follows 1st prize of an IPad Air with an excellent score of 45pts was Hugh Gralton Joint 2nd of £300euro voucher for DeVino Restaurant was John Hardiman and Cathal Dowd 42pts. 4th £100euro voucher for De Vino Restaurant was Gordon Kavanagh with a score of 40 pts. The Gross Prize of a 4 ball to Killeen Castle was won by David McDermott with an excellent 69 gross score. Longest Drive of a Lenoa McGuire top was Callum McGirl Nearest to the pin of a £100 euro voucher was Damien Quigley. And a very special prize of a voucher for Pete Duignan Golf Longford was won by Oliver Curran
