Gents Divino Restaurant G.O.Y.

The club would like to thank the management of Divino’s Restaurant Carrick-on-Shannon for their very generous sponsorship of last week’s competition. Congrats to all the winners. The overall winner with an excellent score of 42 pts was Gareth McDaid. Gross was won by Patrick Martin 36pts. Division 1 winner was Marc McDermott 39pts. Division 2 winner was Andy Connellan 38pts.

Ladies Australian Spoons 2024.

Congrats to the winners of the Australian spoons both the net winners and the gross winners which were as follows. Kathleen Loftus & Dolores Mulvey net score 47pts. The gross was won by Geraldine Farry & Phil McWeeney 36pts.They will represent the club in the Regional Qualifier in Enniscrone on Wednesday July 24th. We wish both teams the best of luck.

Seniors Results

The overall winner last Thursday was Tom Martin with a score of 38 points. Category one winner was Leo Mulvey with a score of 37 points, Category two was won by Donal Collins with 32 points and Category three was won by Dermot Monaghan with 36 points. The front nine was won by Gerard Fitzgerald with 19 points and the back nine was won by Albert Hogg with 19 points. Next Thursday will be the Lady Captain Ann Cox prize to the Seniors.

Anne Cox Lady Captain’s Week.

Our very hard working and very popular Lady Captains week starts next week. We wish Anne all the best for her Captains. On Wednesday 10th is the Ladies Scramble on Thursday 11th is The Ladies Captain’s prize to the Seniors. Then on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th is the Ladies and Gents Section. Food and Presentation of prizes will take place on Saturday night at 7.30pm.

Gents Lynch Cup Draw 2024.

Thanks to all the gents who played their lynch cup matches on time. Congrats to Robbie Donaldson on reaching the final. He will play the winners of Shamzuri Hanifa v Kevin Sheeran.

Mary O’Rourke Presidents Prize Results.

Congrats to our very popular President Mary O’Rourke on the very well organised week last. The week began with the Ladies scramble on Wednesday. The results are as follows 1st Jenny Bruen , Patricia Molloy, and Kathleen O’Dowd 27net. 2nd Ann Keenan, Molly Daly, Katrina Fitzpatrick 27net. 3rd Carmel Stritch, Terri Gray, Claire Grant, 28net. On Thursday it was the President’s Prize to the seniors. Congrats to the winner Sean Martin with a score of 37 pts. The Ladies and Gents section was played over Friday and Saturday and the results are as follows. In the Ladies section Congrats to the overall winner Teresa Duignan with an excellent score of 65 net. 2nd Mary Molly 64net. Gross Geraldine Farry 83gross. 3rd Mary King 67net. Back 9 was won by Carmel Stritch, front 9 was won by Jenny Bruen. Longest drive Geraldine Farry. Nearest to the pin was won by Anne Cox. Past Ladies President Prize was won by Phil McWeeney. Winner of the birdie prize was Siobhan Talbot. The club would like to thank all the volunteers and course staff who had the course in excellent condition, and also the Bar and Kitchen staff who provided excellent food and drinks on the night.

Senior Results.

Last Thursday was the President’s prize to the Seniors. The overall winner was Seán Martin with a score of 37 points. Congrats to Seán on winning the Presidents prize and thanks to the President Mary O’Rourke who presented the prize in the clubhouse on Saturday evening during a most enjoyable event. Other winners last Thursday were Chris Lowe who won Category one with a score of 32 points, Category two was won by Paddy Dillon with 36 points and Category three was won by Francie Foley with 35 points. The front nine was won by Albert Hogg with 18 points and the back nine was won by Seán Gilmartin with 18 points. Golf as usual next Thursday.

Congrats To Patrick Martin and Charlie Boyle in Connacht U18 Boys Amateur Championship.

Great to see 2 of our members in the top 3 places of the Connacht Boys Amateur Championship (Qualifier for U18 Open) Patrick Martin led the way with a superb 1 under Gross 71. Charlie Boyle finished just 2 shots further back on 1 over after a 73. The Top 6 players qualified. Congratulations Patrick and Charlie on the superb golf and their qualification for Connacht Boys U18 Open on the 17th July. Good Luck Lads.
