Gents Club A.G.M.

The A.G.M of the Gents club was held last Friday Night. The outgoing Captain thanked all the various officers and Committee and members of the club for their support and help over the past year. Ladies Club A.G.M.

On last Wednesday evening the 15th of November the ladies held their A.G.M in the club house. A very large crowd attended. The ladies thanked the outgoing Captain Sheila Carney and her Committee for the excellent work over the past year, and every one present wished the incoming Lady Captain Anne Cox and her team good luck for 2024. Senior Results

The overall winner last week was Chris Lowe with 39 points. Category one winner was Damien Duignan with 39 points and in second place was Albert Hogg with 38 points. Category two was won by Pascal McGuire with 36 points and second place was won by Sean Mc Monagle with 35 points. Category three winner was Robbie Donaldson with 38 points and in second place P J Sharkey with 30 points. Golf as usual next Thursday.

Senior Results.

The overall winner on Thursday the 26th October was Tommy Mulvey with 40 points. In second place with 39 points was Anthony Noone and Albert Hogg came third also with 39 points. Date for your diary – Christmas Hamper will be played in Strandhill on Thursday the 30th November first tee 10.00 am. Golf as usual next Thursday.

The Late Mary Menton. Past Lady Captain. 2010.

It is with deep sadness that we all here in the club share the news of the death of our past Lady Captain Mary Menton. Termonfeckin, formerly of Boyle and Clontarf . Beloved daughter of the late Dr Brendan and Anna Menton. Much loved partner of Robin and wonderful cherished sister of Brendan, Kevin, Colm and Malachy, and sister in laws Linda, Audrey, Geraldine and Barbara. Adored aunt of Ronan, Aisling, Ailbhe, Niamh, Sarah, Suzanne, Jill, Kevin, Peter, Kenneth, Brendan, Danielle, Emma, Jack and Cathal and her grand nieces and nephews. Also greatly missed by her aunt Gina, by her former husband Michael and her extended family friends and business colleagues. Mary’s Funeral service took place on Thursday, 2nd November, at 11.30am in St. John’s Church, Clontarf Road, followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium. Mary was a very popular and hardworking member of the club. The club would like to extend its sympathy to all her Family and friends.
