Last Thursday was Captain Barry Donnellan day. With over 50 players competing for the top prize shows how popular Barry is. The Seniors would like to thank Barry for his very generous sponsorship of the prizes and also the excellent food provided by Cor’s Steak House. The results were as follows. 1st with an excellent score Dermot Monaghan. 41pts. (B9) Cat 1 winner P.J. Sharkey 40pts. Cat 2 winner Michael Duignan 39pts. Cat 3 winner Francie Foley 41pts. Front 9 winner Anthony Noone 23pts. Back 9 winner Pat Gannon Kilmore 22pts. Nearest the pin on the 8th was won by Anthony Noone and Nearest the pin on the 17th was won by Paddy Duffy. Please play all remaining matches on time. 2 Man Scramble Semi Final to be played before the 13th of Sep. Dylan Beirne and Kyle Flynn play Nathan Flynn and Liam Bruen. Niall Keaney and Eoin Gibney play Darragh and Brendan Boyle. Gents Fourball Semi Final to be played before 13th of September. Niall Hanley and Devin Hanley play Steve Doherty and Mick Blake. Paul Reid and Tom McGuinness play Gerard McGonigle and Robert Donaldson. In the Lynch cup Owen Donohue is through to the semi-final Quarter final between Mark McShera and Conor Beirne and Dylan Beirne and Darragh Boyle.

What a fantastic week of golf in support of NCBRI with a wonderful turnout in all competitions-about 200 between all. Sadly we have no prizes for all but I’m sure our visitors enjoyed playing our course as we all did. The best dressed lady was won by style icon: Marie Laydon. In The Gents Section Paddy Duffy was the winner. The 9-hole winners were-1st Mena Doherty, 2nd Veronica Sheeran and 3rd Mary Layden. The 18-hole winner with a wonderful 42 points was Carmel Stritch, 2nd Mary Blake and visitors prize goes to Dun Laoghaire with Liz Hogan bringing in a huge 43 points. In the Gents section 1st Tony Woodhead 44pts (B9) 2ND John Charles 44pts. Visitor Pat McHugh 38pts.
