Sean Mulvey Win Junior Scratch Cup at New Forest Golf Club.

Congrats to our very popular member Sean Mulvey who won the Junior Scratch Cup at New Forest Golf Club recently. Sean had an excellent gross score of 77. Club President Mary O’Rourke Presents Cheque for £1200euro to North West STOP.

President Mary O’Rourke had a brilliant idea to raise funds for a Charity of her choice on her Presidents Day. Lady Captain Anne Cox and Club President Mary O’Rourke present Nicola O’Connor from North West Stop with a Cheque for 1200 euro.Thanks to all club members and friends who contributed to this worthy cause. Gents Jimmy Bruen Inter Club 2nd round results.

Congrats to the Jimmy Bruen team who had an excellent 3 1 win over the Co Sligo team last week. They are now through to the Connacht semi Final in 2 weeks’ time. The team was as follows: Team Captain Fiachra Neary. Home Paul Roche & Albert Hogg. Gordon Kavanagh & Damien Quigley. Aaron Gibney & Niall Loftus. Sean Bohan & Stephen Sheeran.

Gents Cottage G.O.Y Results.

The club would like to thank Shamzuri Hanifa from the cottage restaurant for his very generous sponsorship of last week’s competition. Congrats to all the winners. The results are as follows. The overall winner with an excellent score was John Coffey with a 68nett. Division one winner was David McDermott with a score of 70nett. Division 2 winner was Garreth McDaid with a score of 70nett.

Senior Results.

The overall winner last Thursday was Dermot Conlon with a score of 40 points. Category one winner was Chris Lowe with a score of 38 points, Category two was won by Mick Gallagher with 38 points and Category three was won by Gerard Fitzgerald with 33 points. The front nine was won by Dermot Monaghan with 19 points and the back nine was won by Paddy Duffy with 20 points. The next away outing is to Slieve Russell on Monday the 29th July, first tee at 9.40am. Golf as usual next Thursday.

Message from our Lady Captain Anne Cox to Members and Visitors

I would like to thank most sincerely everyone who made my lady captain’s day such a wonderful event. The four competitions were vigorously contested and I was delighted to see so many ladies playing the 9 hole on Friday. Congratulations to the winners. Thanks to everyone who prepared the course the clubhouse and helped organise the evening event and of course the beautiful day was the icing on the cake.It was great to see so many people gathered in the clubhouse and enjoying the celebrations.Unfortunately our President Mary was unable to attend but I know she was with us in spirit. To date €1400 has been generously donated to Roscommon Mayo Hospice on your behalf. Thank you most sincerely for that. Hard to believe we are halfway through the golfing year so let’s get out and enjoy our fabulous golf course while we can. Looking forward to Captain Paul’s weekend in a few weeks. Congrats to our very popular and hardworking Lady Captain Anne Cox on a very successful week last. A big thanks to all who helped Anne to make the week so successful.
