Our mixed team were playing Co Sligo in the 2nd round of the Flogas Irish Mixed Foursomes. The team were unlucky to have lost 3 2 to a very good Sligo team. The team were as follows. The following were the winners on Thursday 8th June:- Overall winner was Reggie Carroll with an excellent score of 46 points. Category winners – Category 1 Leo Mulvey 40 points; Category 2 Charlie Farrell 42 points and Category 3 Ken Moran with 42 points. The front 9 winner was Gerrard Fitzgerald with 22 points and the back 9 was won by Sean Martin with 23 points. All players on Thursday competed in the Club Classic which was an excellent success as a fundraiser for the club. The next away outing is in Slieve Russell on Monday the 19th June, the first tee is booked for 10am. Congratulations to Pat Brogan who won the Presidents prize in Boyle last Sunday over 27 holes. Golf as usual next Thursday.

The winning lady and the winning gentleman from these club qualifying competitions will receive a physical PGA Tankard and also progress to a national semi-final, where they will play along with a Club Professional. From Carrick Golf in the Ladies section we will be represented by Sinead Weir who had an excellent score of 71nett.
