Gents Single Stableford Competition Sat 13th and Sunday 14th January.

Sat 13th & Sun 14th Jan 2024. 9 hole singles, Stableford. Entry Fee €5, Re-Entry €5. If Re-Entering please sign into the Re-Entry competition on the computer. Open to play over the old 9 holes from Yellow tees only. Please ensure you check into the office before play, read local rules, sign in for the competition & receive course & playing handicap for the yellow course. When you sign in for the competition on the computer, the entry fee will be taken from your purse. If you do not have sufficient funds in the purse, you will not be able to sign into the competition.Members’ competition purses can be topped up either by cash / card at the office desk, or in the my golf tab within masterscoreboard.co.uk. When members sign in for the competition, your current purse balance will be displayed, this is also available on masterscoreboard.co.uk After your round, verify your score with a playing partner, sign your card, ask the verifier to sign the card. Use the computer or masterscoreboard.co.uk to enter your score and place the card in the box.Failure to do the above will result in disqualification.

Teams will be picked on Sunday 28/01/24 at 16:00.Weather permitting, the league will consist of six weekly rounds, commencing Mon 29/01/24 and finishing Sun 10/03/24.The format will be 9 holes stableford, played over the old 9 course. Each week, the best 5 cards from each team will contribute to the team’s score. At least one lady’s card must be included in the teams weekly total. Each player will be permitted to enter a maximum of two cards per week, one weekly entry and one re-entry. The Entry fee of €30 will be deducted from your competitions purse once the teams are picked so please ensure that you have €30 in your competitions purse before Sunday 28/01/24. With €1000 of prize money on offer, we hope to have a strong entry again this year.

Club 50/50 Draw Results.

Seniors News.

Last Thursday 14th December was the final outing of the year which took place over nine holes at Carrick-on-Shannon golf course. It was a very successful event and the winners were as follows:- overall winner Robbie Donaldson with 20 points. Category one winner Anthony Noone with 19 points, Category two Seamus Mulhern with 19 points and Tom Martin won Category three with 16 points. Our captain Seán Martin presented the hamper prizes to the winners in Strandhill as reported in last week’s papers. Golfer of the year was won by Gerry Emmett with an excellent score of 380 points over ten days (38 points per day). Robbie Donaldson won the Matchplay competition, the final of which was played in Strandhill at the last outing. Seán thanked all present for their continued support and attendance with a substantial number playing every Thursday and at monthly outings. He paid tribute to Kevin and his staff for an excellent Christmas dinner which was enjoyed by all present. He also thanked Supervalu in Carrick who sponsored a number of voucher prizes and thanks was also extended to other sponsors. In particular Seán acknowledged the ongoing dedication and attention to detail by Chris Lowe stating that the success of the Seniors was due in no small way to Chris and his commitment each week. Seán has now completed his two year term as Captain and an excellent captain he was. Finally Seán welcomed the incoming Captain Barry Donnellan and wished him good luck in his new role as Captain of the Seniors.
