Gent’s Single Stableford competition over Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 June

This weekend we will have a gent’s single Stableford competition over Saturday & Sunday.Entry Fee: €10. Played Over 18 holes. Open to play from: Green or White tees. Lift clean and place fairway only. Handicap allowance 90%. LOCAL RULE IN PLACE – If you are in any area that has been affected by drainage works. Please move your ball to closest point of relief.

Gents Inter Club Junior Cup Results.

Our Junior cup team were playing Castlebar last Sunday in the first round Desipe our team playing very well they lost 3 2 . Best of luck to Castlebar in the next round. The following were the team. Gent’s Weekend Comp Single Stableford, GOY Sponsored by Brendan Kieran, Kierans Totalhealth Pharmacy Results.

Last weekend’s Gent’s’s single Stableford competition over Saturday & Sunday. This was also a Golfer of the Year comp. Which was sponsored by Brendan Kieran, Kierans totalhealth Pharmacy. Brendan Kieran is a third generation pharmacist who took over the family business in Carrick-on-Shannon in 2001. His grandfather Patrick set up his first pharmacy in Ballinamore in 1920 and in later years expanded into Drumshanbo and Ballyconnell. His father Brendan set up in Carrick in 1968. In 2001 Brendan moved to the current location and in 2004 expanded the business and opened in Mohill. Both stores are growing from strength to strength with strong support from staff and the local community. Brendan is proud to be a native of Carrick-on-Shannon and to continue the strong family tradition of serving the community and sponsoring this Competition. Ladies Wednesday Scramble Results.

O.B.N. Series is Back for 2025.

The OBN Series 2025 at Carrick on Shannon Golf Club. The second running of the “OBN Series” Sponsored by OBN Financial takes place this year 2025. We are making a number of changes from the lessons we learned last year. We have increased the qualifying competitions by one to 6 competitions.All 6 competitions are open to non-Carrick on Shannon golf club Members. Entry fee: Member €10, Non-Member: €35 (per competition) The 6 events are: The Curamach Strings Comp (2-Man Comp) 28th-29th of June Taylor Cleaning Comp (New Sponsor) 12th-13th of July Prime Signs Comp (New Sponsor) 26th/27 July Arigna Fuels Comp 09th/10th August The Neary Accountant’s Comp 16th-17th of August The Tipsy Tailor Comp (New Sponsor) 06th – 07th of Sept OBN Series Grand Final 20th of September.The format of the competitions are also changing, each week will have a different format (2-man event, stableford, stroke & V-par etc.) The system of awarding points each week has changed Points will be allocated from each of the above competitions as follows: 1st position: 25 points 2nd position: 20 points 3rd position: 18 Points 4th position: 17 Points 5th Position: 16 Points 6th to 10th position: 15 Points 11th to 20th position: 10 Points .21st to 30th position: 5 Points Gross score winner: 5 Bonus Points. Visitor playing in comp: 5 Bonus Points We are awarding 5 bonus points to any Carrick on Shannon golf club member who gets a visitor to play in the qualifiers. These bonus points are capped at 30 points (6 visitors). The member must report the associated visitor before they play to be awarded the points. Member do not need to play with their visitors and the visitors can be all the one day or spread out across the qualifiers. The top 42 players across the 6 competitions will qualify for the OBN Grand Final on the 13th of September 2025. Grand Final qualifiers must have played in a minimum of 3 of the above 6 competitions. (Non-Carrick on Shannon golf club members need only have played in 2 but need the same points to qualify) Friday evening the 19th of September will see the very popular “Player Auction”. This will be live both on WhatsApp and in person in the Tipsy Tailor Bar Carrick on Shannon. The OBN Series Grand Final (Stableford Competition, White Markers, Shotgun Start, 3 ball groupings) with ranking based on the position players qualified in as follows.Top Qualifier will start with +5 Stableford points. Qualifiers 2 to 5 will start with +3 stableford points.Qualifiers 6 to 10 will start with +2 stableford points. Qualifiers 11 to 25 will start with +1 stableford points Qualifiers 26 to 40 will start with 0 stableford points. Prizes and further information to follow. We hope you all can see from the changes that we are putting a larger emphasis on getting guests/visitors to play in the series. The first qualifier (The Curamach Strings Comp) is going to be a unique 2-man competition (more details to follow) so get your little black book out guys and get your partner lined up. It’s a fantastic opportunity to invite a guest to play and bag you first bonus points.

Fred Perry Inter Club Results.

Our Fred Perry team were playing against Ballinamore last Wednesday evening in the first round. Congrats to Ballinamore on their win on the day. We wish them the best of luck in the next round.
