Lynch Cup Reminder.

The final date for Lynch Cup first round matches is Sunday 21st of May. If matches are not played by this date the system will not allow you to enter the result & the match will be decided by coin toss.The matches are available on Masterscoreboard.co.uk under the tab Knock-Out Draws. All matches are to be played off the white tee’s. Handicap allowance for individual match-play is 100% of course handicap. High player receives 100% of the difference.After playing the match, please sign into the computer as you would when entering a competition score, and use the “enter knock out match result” tab to enter the result.

Junior Boys Fred Daly Results.

Our Junior boys, despite playing excellent golf last weekend, were beaten by a very good Castlebar team in the second round of the Fred Daly Trophy. The team was as follows Captain Alan Ffrench. Charlie Boyle Patrick Martin Zach Brennan Aaron Gibney Luke Creighton Conal Creighton. The future of golf in the club looks very good with these young excellent players.

The Fred Perry Senior Team Results.

Our Senior Team played Strandhil last Saturday in the Fred Perry Trophy. The team was as follows. Captain Albert Hogg. Andy Connellan & Anthony Noone. Albert Hogg & Paddy Murray. Chris Lowe & Pascal McGuire. John O’Mahony & Jim King. Tommy Mulvey & Liam Bruen.The result was not in our favour thanks to the captain and team for their effort. Club Fourball Results.

Congrats to David McDermott and Fiachra Neary who won last weekend’s Fourball with an excellent score of 45 pts. David and Fiachra will now represent the club in this year’s NCBI Holmpatrick Cup regional final, where they will be in with a chance to win a golfing trip to St Andrews.

Pierce Purcell Inter club results.

Last Wednesday our Pierce Purcell were unlucky against Tubbercurry.With five matches away it was always going to be difficult to get a result.The team were as follows. Team Captain Paul O’Brien. Ladies Results

Congratulations to Phil Emmett and Phil McWeeney who won Countess of Granard Qualifier (NCBI) with a score of 36 pts.Congratulations to Mary Molloy and the Challenge Cup Team, who had a Round 1 win over Rosses Point. Ladies Open is taking place this Friday. There are excellent prizes to be won. Next weekend’s competition is kindly sponsored by Mulvey’s House of GIfts.

Seniors Results

The following were the winners last Thursday:- The overall winner was John O’Mahony with 40 points. Category 1 winner was Frank McGrath with 33 points; Category 2 Robbie Donaldson 35 points and Category 3 winner was Gerrard Fitzgerald with 37 points. The front 9 was won by Eamonn Costello with 19 points and the back 9 was won by Sean McMonagle with 19 points. Golf as usual next Thursday. The next away outing is on Monday the 22nd May in Claremorris.

Club Four-Ball Qualifier

Fri 12th, Sat 13th & Sun 14th May 2023 – Club Fourball Qualifier. Top 16 teams qualify for match-play.18 Hole Four-Ball, Stableford. Entry fee €10 per player. Please ensure you check into the office before play, read local rules, sign in for the competition on the computer & receive course & playing handicap for the chosen course. When signing in for the competition, the computer will ask to sign in player A, and then Player B. Please be aware that handicap allowance for Four-Ball Stableford is 85% of course handicap.The computer will print a label showing you the course handicap (CI) and playing handicap (PH) for both players.After your round, verify your score with playing partners, sign your card, ask the verifier to sign the card.Use the computer to enter your score and place the card in the box.Failure to do the above will result in disqualification. The handicap allowance for four ball match-play is 90% of course handicap so please be aware that the playing handicap may change from qualifier to match-play. Information on course & playing handicaps, and handicap allowance for different formats of play is on the men’s noticeboard or at www.golfireland.ie/handicap-system.
