Hugh Gralton’s Captain’s Prize.
The Club would like to wish our Captain Hugh Gralton the very best of luck this week with his Captains Prize. Hugh has been a very hard working member of the club for many years and has held various officer positions in the Club. The week starts on Wednesday with the Ladies Scramble also on Wednesday we have Captains prize to beginners. On Thursday we have the Captains Prize to the Seniors. Then on Friday and Saturday we have the Main Prize with Presentation of prizes on Saturday Night at 8.00pm. Good Luck Hugh.
Men’s A.I.G Senior Cup Area Stroke Play Qualifier.
Last weekend our Senior cup team was playing in the Senior Cup. Our team played very well and were unlucky not to have reached the next stage. The Team were as follows. Team Captain John Coffey. David McDermott. Dylan Beirne Patrick Martin Aaron Gibney.Nathan Flynn. The Club would like to thank the team captain and team for their effort.
Senior’s Update.
The seniors are all very saddened to have lost 2 very popular members of the seniors. The Death occurred of member Noel Beirne 5 Errill Shannon Court Carrick-on-Shannon recently. Noel is survived by his wife Stephanie. Son Garry Daughter Tracey. Daughter in Law Donna. Son in Law Niall. Grandchildren Dillion, Mia and Amy. The Death has also occurred of Tom Crowe Summerhill Carrick-on-Shannon. Tom is survived by his wife Kathleen. Daughters Fionnuala Arlene Karina Clodagh Alison and Kathy. Sons Thomas John Barry David and Brian.His 28 Grandchildren. Brothers, Barney, George, Oliver, Declan, and Brendan. Sisters Kathleen and Teresa His Daughters in Laws Sons in Law.Brothers in Law Sisters in Law. Both Noel and Tom were very popular members of Carrick Golf Club. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to both Families. May they rest in peace. The Seniors next outing is on Monday 7 th of July to Claremorris Golf Club the first tee is at 11.00am. Result. Our mixed team played Rosses Point on Wed 18th. Our team were: Team Captains Frank Duffy & Monica Shannon. Home: Frank Duffy & Attracta O’Connor. Mary King & John Hardiman. Away: John Coffey & Phil McWeeney. Gordon Kavanagh & Dolores Mulvey. Well done to all but especially John & Phil who stole a great win away at the point. Our Jimmy Bruen team were playing against Tubbercurry and were narrowly beaten on the play off hole at home. With the team winning one match at home and one match away.
