Last Thursday’s golf at Carrick was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The next away outing is on Monday the 24th April in Roscommon.The outing to Athlone on the 24th April mentioned in last week’s notes has been cancelled.This outing has been rescheduled for Monday the 9th October. Golf as usual next Thursday.

The following are the results of the Easter open competition for both ladies and gents. Thanks to over 100 players who played, thanks also to our course staff despite all the rain had the course in excellent condition. The results are as follows. In the ladies section 1st Maureen Egan 36pts. 2 nd Geraldine Farry 29pts (B9) Gross Siobhan Talbot 23pts. 3rd Geraldine Prendiville 29pts.In the gents section Division 1 winner Daniel Egan 40pts. Division 2 Gerry Emmett 37pts. Division 3 Gerard Fennelly 43pts.

The results of the gents 9 hole competition played over weekend 02.04.2023. are as follows. Cat 1 winner Finbar Cregg 21pts. Cat 2 Ciaran Cafferky 23pts. Cat 3 Gary Goldrick 23pts.

Last weekend was the final round of the spring league. A huge thanks again to our sponsors Shane Fitzpatrick and all in Flynn’s Bar for their very generous sponsorship. Thanks to all club members who took part as well. Congrats to the winning team Team 13 Captain Patricia O’Hara with a final score of 564pts. The team were as follows: Eithne McGuire Mary Moreton David McDermott Shane Sharkey Thomas Ahern Sean Duignan Jimmy Deane James Hoban. Congrats also to the winners last weekend in the Ladies section Martina Sweeney with a score of 21 pts. And in the Gents section Seamus Mulhern with a score of 21 pts. The following were the winners of the 9 hole competition on Thursday last. Overall Winner Pascal Mc Guire 20 points (Back 3). Category 1 John O Mahoney 20 points, Category 2 Leo Kavanagh 19 points, Category 3 Seamus Mulhern 19 points. The first away outing will be on Monday March 13th in Strandhill Golf Club with tee off at 11am.At a very well attended AGM held in the Clubhouse on Thursday last the following officers were elected for the coming year; Captain Sean Martin, Secretary Chris Lowe, Treasurer Michael Delorey, PRO John Burke (KV).

The following were the winners of the Carrick Seniors golf competition on Thursday 16th February. Overall Winner John O Mahoney 42 points, Second Michael Keville 41 points, Third Tommie Kenoy 38 points. Front 9 Kevin O Rourke 21 points, Back 9 P.J. Sharkey 21 points. The Seniors AGM takes place on Thursday 2nd March in the Clubhouse at 1pm.
