The season got off to a start last Thursday after a long wet winter recess. Our new Captain is Pascal McGuire and we wish Pascal the very best of good luck during the year ahead. Thursday’s competition was over nine holes with 12 members competing. The winner was Robert Donaldson with 19 points. In second place Michael Keville with 17 points and Gerry Emmett came third with 14 points. Our outgoing Captain Seán Martin went beyond the call of duty for the past two years. We thank Seán for his support every Thursday and on monthly away outings. We wish Seán the best of good luck in the future. Golf as usual nexxt Thursday.

It’s that time of year again where you can use your golf knowledge to win €1000 as well as other cash prizes. Congrats to our Captains Ann Cox and Paul Reid on last Saturday’s drive in. They were Joined by President Mary O’Rourke and a very large crowd of members. Thanks to the course staff, despite the weather, the course was in good condition. Also a big thank you to the staff in the kitchen for providing all taking part with hot Meals. Next Saturday 16th of March, at 11am, gents captain Paul Reid & lady captain Anne Cox will host the 2024 captains drive in. The format will be a four person mixed scramble with a shotgun start at 11am. Entry Fee €10 per player. Prize giving will take place in the club house immediately after the competition. This is an important competition to kick off what we hope will be a very enjoyable golfing season. We encourage everyone to aim to take part. The timesheet is now live for Sat 16th of March so please put your name in any of the allocated tee times, if you wish to be included on a team. Teams will be randomly picked from the entry list at 7pm on Friday 15th March. Once the teams have been picked you will be entered into the competition. Please enter to play, and come along afterwards for the prize giving, some craic and perhaps watch the rugby! Best of luck to our captains and we hope everybody enjoys the day*.*
