Ladies and Gents Damien Murphy Memorial Cup Open Competition

Fri 28th April to Mon 1st May 2023 – Murphy Cup – Open Competition 18 hole singles, stableford.Entry Fee €10, Re-Entry €10, Visitors €20 Open to play from White or Yellow tee’s.Placing Conditions:Lift, Clean & Place within 6 inches on fairway! Lift, Clean & Drop within 1 club length in semi-rough! The golfer considered to be dressed in the most appropriate attire for the event will be rewarded!Please ensure you check into office before play, read local rules, sign in for the competition, choose your tee’s & receive course & playing handicap for the chosen course.After your round, verify your score with a playing partner, sign your card, ask the verifier to sign the card.Use the computer or masterscoreboard.co.uk to enter your score and place the card in the box.Failure to do the above will result in disqualification.If Re-Entering please sign into the Re-entry competition on the computer before play.After your round, verify your score with a playing partner, sign your card, ask the verifier to sign the card.Use the computer or masterscoreboard.co.uk to enter your score and place the card in the box. Lynch Cup Round 1 Draw

The draw for the Lynch Cup 2023 has taken place and the matches are available on masterscoreboard.co.uk under the tab Knock-Out Draws.All matches are to be played off the white tee’s. Handicap allowance for individual match-play is 100% of course handicap. High player receives 100% of the difference.After playing the match, please sign into the computer as you would when entering a competition score, and use the “enter knock out match result” tab to enter the result.The final date for each round is shown above the matches.If the match is not played by the designated date you will not be able to enter the result & the match will be decided by coin toss. Please see the 1st Round Draw attached.

U.S. Masters Challenge Winners.

The club held its Masters Challenge which was an outstanding success with over 1000 teams competing. Congrats to the winners. 1st Charlie Farrell £1000 euro 2nd Keith Tighe £500 euro 3rd Donagh O’Mahony £200 euro. The club would like to thank all who supported this fundraiser. A very special word of thanks to Liam Bruen, David McDermott Philip Martin and Dylan Beirne who put in a lot of work to make this fundraiser such a success. The club would like to also thank Adeline and Michael Guckian from the Leitrim Inn and Blueway Lodge for organising all the sales in the U.S.A. This year we also had Business both in Ireland and the U.S.A. selling teams online though there web sites. Behan’s and J.P. Clarke’s saloon in New York. Flynn’s Corner House Carrick. The Moylurg Inn Boyle. The Tipsy Taylor, The Leitrim Inn and Blueway Lodge. Thanks again to all who live streamed the results last Sunday night.

Seniors Results

The following were the winners last Thursday. Overall winner Gerry Emmett with an excellent score of 44 points.Category winners:- Category 1 PJ Sharkey with 39 points; Category 2 Tom Martin 38 points; Category 3 Gerrard Fitzgerald 35 points. Front 9 was won by Leo Mulvey with 20 points and the back 9 winner was Reggie Carroll with 21 points. We welcome our new member Damien Duignan. Date for your diary – next outing will be to Athlone on the 24th April. Golf as usual next Thursday.
