On last Friday 31st January we held a celebration dinner and social evening to recognise the relaunch of our revamped Golf Club & Bar, run by our new proprietor Tegi. Many of you will know Tegi from her previous restaurant and tea rooms in Bridge Street, Carrick on Shannon. It was also an opportunity for us to launch the golfing season, in advance of the commencement of the Spring League. The night was excellent with a large crowd of over 80 members and friends present. Thanks to Tegi and her excellent team for the lovely food served on the Night.

Happy New Year to you all. Last year was the inaugural running of the OBN Series and we hope you all enjoyed it. We learned a lot from all the different things we tried, some worked really well and others fell short. Last Year we randomly picked a number of existing sponsored competitions to be part of the series. This Year we would like to get submissions from sponsors to be part of the series qualifiers and for those sponsors to be more involved in their event in some way. We were already approached by a new sponsor at the grand final last year which is brilliant. If you would like your business/family name to be involved in the series please get in contact. The time sheet is now open for entry to the Flynn’s Bar sponsored spring league.If you wish to enter the spring league please log into BRS, and place your name on the timesheet on Monday 27/01/25.Teams will be picked on Sunday 26/01/25 at 16:00.Weather permitting, the league will consist of six weekly rounds, commencing Mon 27/01/25 and finishing Sun 10/03/25.Each week, the best 5 cards from each team will contribute to the teams score. At least one lady’s card must be included in the teams weekly total.Each player will be permitted to enter a maximum of two cards per week, one weekly entry and one re-entry. The Entry fee of €30 will be deducted from your competitions purse once the teams are picked so please ensure that you have €30 in your competitions purse before Sunday 26/01/25. This is an important source of income for the club at a difficult time of year, please support.

The golf club Christmas party will be the last Friday in January the 31st. Which will be held in the clubhouse.More details will be sent out closer to the time. Hope to see you all there.
