The results of the 5th O.B.N. Series Kindly Sponsored by Kevin Ward from Wynne’s Bar Boyle are as follows. Category 1 Handicap 1- 10 Niall Loftus 39pts 200euro. Category 2 Handicap 10-17 Pat Gannon 47pts. 200euro. Category 3 Handicap 17- 23 Sam Boyle 43pts. 200euro. Category 4 Handicap 23 to 44 Frank Mulvey 44pts. Gross Winner Daniel Egan. Visitor Winner Dermot McDermott. Well done to all who played in this weekends record breaking CORA Systems Competition. To say Philip, his family and CORA are amazing supporters of the Golf club is one of the biggest understatements we will ever make. I’m not sure the OBN Series would even exist without the support and leadership shown by the Martin Family in recent years. All we can say is thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
There were actually 179 players in this week’s competition. These figures are a fantastic indication of the current trajectory of Carrick on Shannon Golf Club. The product on offer continues to improve and word is spreading. Scoring was amazing and there were some truly impressive rounds of golf played. When the gun was to their heads some players stood up and were counted big time. On the other hand, some lads wilted like cut meadow on a sunny day. Here are the full results of the competition at the weekend. Cat 1 0-10 Damien Quigley Cat 2 11- 16 Devin Hanley Cat 3 17 -20 Sam Boyle Cat 4 21 – 26 John Reynolds. Cat 5 27+ David Lawlor Gross Winner David McDermott. The planned schedule for the Grand Final on the 5th of September. It’s planned to have all players at the course from about 10.30am (tea/coffee, Scones etc) players collect their goodie bags and score cards. Shotgun starts @12 noon in 3 balls. play expected to finish at 4.30ish, food for the 42 players @ 4.45pm, Presentation of all the prizes from all the qualifiers and the Grand Final @ 5.30pm. Back to the Tipsy Tailor Bar for the after party at 7.30 to 8pm. If anything changes, we will let you know.
